FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations are strongly recommended. To do so, you'll need to purchase your ticket directly from the online shop. You'll need to choose the date, time slot, and number of people. Once you've made your purchase, we'll automatically receive your reservation. To visit the shop, click here.
You can find the opening calendar by clicking here.
Outside of the dates listed means we are closed.
Yes, access to the Ridracoli dam and the IDRO ecomuseum is subject to the payment of a single entrance ticket of €5 per person.
The reduced-price ticket is €4 for children up to 12 years old, over 65s, campsite guests, and various discounts that you will find posted at the ticket office.
The same-day ticket is always valid, allowing you to enter and exit as many times as you want.
Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office located at the dam gate, at the IDRO Ecomuseum reception, or online by clicking here.
Admission is FREE for children up to one meter tall, disabled visitors and their companions, residents of the municipalities of Santa Sofia and Bagno di Romagna (with ID), and guests of Ridracoli homes.
Outside of opening days and times, you can still reach the dam via the National Park's hiking network.
When the entrance gate is closed, a pedestrian crossing remains open, leading to the dam via a roughly 2km uphill walk on a paved road. It's recommended to follow the road without taking any detours or unmarked trails.
The access tunnels to the dam's crown are equipped with automatic gates that close in the evening, and transit on the dam is not permitted at night.
If you use the main entrance to the dam, yes.
Alternatively, the Ridracoli nature trail starting from the IDRO Ecomuseum parking lot allows you to reach the dam without paying a ticket. The walk from the parking lot to the dam takes about an hour.
Remember, once you reach the turnstile that intersects the path to San Paolo in Alpe, you need to enter the asphalt road and follow it until you reach the dam wall without taking any further paths.

BOAT TOURS 2025 ARE SUSPENDED, they will resume in Spring 2026.
The boat can only be booked by purchasing tickets from the online shop, which you can find here.
Online tickets can be purchased up to 24 hours before the desired date. Online tickets cost €5, a flat rate; there are no distinctions between adults and children. Only a limited number of tickets are available for purchase in the shop, not all.
The other way to purchase a boat tour ticket is on the day of your visit at the ticket office located near the embarkation point (cross the dam, next to the bar). You can purchase tickets for any departure of the day at the boat ticket office; we recommend booking your preferred tour as soon as possible and not waiting until the last minute. Tickets on site, subject to availability, cost €3 for a full price and €2.60 for a reduced price (children up to 12, seniors over 65, disabled people, and their companion).
Children aged 0-3 are free on the boat, but only if held in your arms.
Yes, dogs of any size are welcome on the dam, at the museum, on the boat, in the canoe, at the Ridracoli houses, and at the campsite!
A leash and the collection of any droppings are mandatory.
On Sundays and public holidays, a shuttle service is available to access the dam, and dogs must be transported in a carrier or on a leash and muzzle, as is the case on public transport.
If the dog is small, it can be carried on board while being held in your arms.
On Saturdays and other opening days, you can access the dam with your own vehicle.
The €15 CANOE ONLY activity ticket does not include access to the dam, while the €20 ticket does.
You can find all the technical data, webcams and real-time measurements by clicking here.
You can drive to the Ridracoli Dam even on days when the tourist shuttle service is available. The dam area is completely paved, almost flat, and has accessible restrooms.
The IDRO Ecomuseum is accessible by car and has an elevator to access all the visitable rooms.
Admission is free for you and your companion.
Unfortunately, the boat service is not accessible to people with mobility disabilities due to the presence of steps and the lack of suitable space on the boat.
The service is active only on Sundays and public holidays from April to the last Sunday in August. On these days, it will not be possible to access the dam with your own vehicle (except for disabled people with a special car pass).
On the other days, access is possible with your own car or motorbike.
Yes, access to the Ridracoli dam is subject to an entrance fee whether you arrive on foot or by car or shuttle.
