Upper Bidente Valley - Premilcuore
Premilcuore is located on one of the greenest and most pristine slopes of the Casentinesi Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna National Park. The village stands in a secluded and intimate position, surrounded by beech, chestnut and oak woods, and crossed by the clear waters of the Rabbi river , which have always marked its life and the seasons. A former Florentine possession, Premilcuore has preserved its medieval urban layout over the centuries, with cobbled alleys, sandstone buildings, and simple yet elegant architecture. Today, it retains an authentic charm, with a community rooted in tradition and attentive to protecting the environment and landscape.
Nature, tranquility and mountain spirit
Premilcuore is the ideal place for those seeking silence, nature, and a slow pace. It is one of the main access points to the Park in Romagna, a starting point for hikes through the woods , to scenic refuges and ridges. It is part of the Touring Club Italiano's Orange Flag network, a recognition of the quality of tourism and the promotion of the local heritage.
In the historic center are the Museum of Apennine Fauna , with a rich naturalistic collection, and the River Park , an equipped area along the river with paths, restored mills and small waterfalls that offer corners for relaxation and bathing in the summer.
