A circular route immersed in the nature of the Casentinesi Forests National Park, passing through symbolic sites of the Resistance and the history of the 8th Garibaldi Brigade "Romagna".
The route begins at the Ponte del Faggio rest area , the entrance to the Bidente di Pietrapazza valley . From here, you climb along a path immersed in greenery until you reach Trappisa di Sotto , an ancient rural settlement nestled among the woods. We continue along the "Salgheda ," the ancient mule track that connected Poggio alla Lastra to the "Villa" of Strabatenza. Here we reach the abandoned village of Strabatenza , where the church of San Donato still stands with its rectory: headquarters of the Romagna Brigade Group Command in 1944. The Monument to the Partisans of the 8th Brigade pays homage to those who fought for freedom in these places. The trail continues slightly downhill to Cà I Fondi , where you can admire the charming, recently restored humpback bridge . Continue to the ruins of La Casaccia , which was the headquarters of the 2nd Detachment of the 2nd Zone of the Brigade , where Janošik himself operated. After a stretch through woods and open sections on marly-sandstone, you reach Cà del Tosco , another of the Detachment's operational bases. From here, with a short detour, you reach Cà Palaino , then take the forest road that leads gently back down the valley, completing the loop near the Ponte del Faggio .
