Education, nature and tourism in the Valtiberina

Founded in 1996 and based in Anghiari, Toscana d’Appennino is a Tuscan cooperative working across culture, the environment, education and tourism. Through educational projects, environmental activities and travel experiences, it encourages people to discover the area while supporting the sustainable use of its natural and cultural resources.

One of its best-known initiatives is the La Fabbrica della Natura centre, a hub for environmental education in the Monti Rognosi Nature Reserve. Here, students and visitors can take part in learning experiences focused on biodiversity and the natural history of the Valtiberina.

Over the years, the cooperative has involved thousands of young people in educational programmes and developed activities such as guided hikes, educational camps and experiential routes. Through its cooperative approach and strong local roots, Toscana d’Appennino actively supports the development of slow, responsible tourism in the heart of Tuscany.
