Cooperativa Villa Abbas

Archaeology, history and culture in the heart of Sardinia
Founded in Sardara in 1986, the Villa Abbas Cooperative works to promote local cultural heritage and increase awareness of Sardinian history through educational and cultural activities. With strong roots in the local area, the cooperative is a key reference point for anyone wishing to explore Sardinia’s archaeological heritage and traditions.
It manages the Villa Abbas Archaeological Museum, housed in an early twentieth-century building, and the Sant’Anastasia Archaeological Site, home to the renowned Nuragic sacred well. The museum takes visitors on a journey through thousands of years of history, from prehistory to the Middle Ages, with artefacts discovered across the Marmilla area.
The cooperative offers guided tours, educational workshops, exhibitions and cultural events, engaging schools, families and visitors in immersive learning experiences. Its aim is to make culture accessible while promoting Sardinia’s collective memory and archaeological landscape.
Through its daily work, Villa Abbas promotes responsible cultural tourism and actively contributes to the protection of one of Sardinia’s most fascinating historical sites.
